Although little known for rock climbing, Valtellina is instead presented as an ideal destination for climbing on various local cliffs, especially in the warm months.

Here we also find several walls of various lengths, where the work of the local guides has made it possible to repeat far-reaching itineraries in a wild and evocative environment, with guaranteed exposure right from the first pitches.

The complex approaches make you give up a bit but in reality lead to respectable climbs, with stone that is not exactly Verdonian, but which is nonetheless worth climbing. Another aspect not to be overlooked is that Valtellina offers excellent bases for classic mountaineering ascents in the Ortles-Cevedale group.

During the winter season it lends itself to numerous possibilities for ski mountaineering trips, in places that are often not very popular but of great beauty. Spring opens the doors to trips on the glaciers where multi-day tours can also be planned, remaining at high altitude and making use of the various refuges.
